headlight reto guestion

ok so after MONTHS, im finally puttin the projectors in my headlights. but, like everything else ive done so far, ive run into a snag. i cant get the damn lenses off. i bought the depot clear but they almost seem glued on. how did yall do it? and yes, i removed the clips on both top and bottom(someone was gonna ask that i just know it ). any help is great.

there is a hard sealant in between the lenses and the housings... you will need to heat that sealant up to soften it. oven or heat gun works best.... personally i prefer the oven, as it evenly heats the headlight. if you're using the oven remove all meltable plastics (ie rubber grommets, caps, vent covers, etc), preheat the oven to 300 (temp can vary on preference) then turn it OFF. do not put your headlight in with the oven still on. with the oven OFF and preheated, put your headlight on a baking sheet or something similiar into the oven for 10 min. take it out with oven mitts then start prying away! you may need to repeat the oven step as the sealant cools.

ha, an oven, never thought of that. ill give it a try.

Don't try and take the lens apart from the housing before heating the butyl sealant... You're gonna give yourself a hernia like that.
