Rear shock removal

ok well i replaced my front struts and the car rides great but i have a 116,000 miles on my 97 camry and i need to replace the back shocks...im going go with oem cause thats what i replaced the front with...is there a diy on here or does any one know if it is difficult to do them yourself? thanks

just pick up a haynes manual and it'll tell you what to do.


It's pretty simple- the hardest part is just getting the endlinks off without stripping the bolt

if you don't want to have to spend the money on OEM stuff, you can always just get oem replacements such as Monroe struts for half the price

there will be Two challenges:

1. The endlinks (as always rusty bolts)

2. Care and removal of the Speed Sensors. $150 each if you damage the wires or contact.

a Haynes Manual is the best investment to all DIY guys.

its not bad...but definately remove the speed sensors. I know midas had to pick up that tab for me when they broke mine...but it was mainly a waste of my time which ticked me off.
