3rd Generation Intake Manifold on GEN3

Hi guys,

I am thinking of checking and if possible replacing my Intake Manifold on my Gen3.
Recently been to a mechanic and he told me my intake manifold need replacement, coz at the moment my car is very noisy and lack of power.
But he won't tell me how much will it cost he he said he wanted to take everything out and check....anyway any idea where i should start...just want to save some money and at the same time learning as well.

Cheers

since when does an intake manifold leak??? maybe the gasket....a cheap change

and if you REALLY do need one for some reason, go to a junkyard.

if you ask me, it sounds like a cash grab for the labor that it takes to take the manifold off

Cool

All that boost cracke dyour intake manifold, yo.

Since you're australian are you talking about the INTAKE MANIFOLD, or do you just mean the air intake? The manifold won't go bad...

Check compression / lead-down / vacuum.
Check fuel system injectors, filter.
NGK, or Denso plugs only. I suggest copper...
