Remove the base of your rear seat to increase storage

Remove the base of your rear seat before using your Camry to haul something. Have you ever put down the backs of your rear seats and thought "what's the point of this, it doesn't really do anything"?

The key is that you need to remove the bottom of the rear seat first - then the back of the rear seat folds right down into where the base was and you have lots of storage room (remember, the back of the rear seat is now gone so the storage area goes further back). Just this past weekend I was hauling five full yard waste bags back there and I probably could have put a sixth there, as well as stuff in the trunk itself.

Try removing the seat, you'll be suprised at how much storage room there is with it gone. There are just three clips on the front edge of the seat, pop them up and the seat comes out. Easy to put back too.

agreed. i use my back seat for passengers...

The point of pulling down the back seats is when you have something long to load. at least thats what i use it for.

You guys are missing the point. You could have a lot more storage space, much more than the trunk, if you just take out the base of the back seat.

On the station wagon the base flips forward then the back fits where the base was. Unfortunately those of us with sedans don't have that option - we can only remove the base, but it's really easy on this car. Just try it, it'll be easy to put back, I promise. You'll see what I mean. You won't have as much hauling capacity as a station wagon of course, but you'll have a lot more than you normally do.

As for sex, unless you are five foot tall I just don't see anything *comfortably* happening in the back seat. The passenger seat folds back quite nicely (and will go further back if you remove the base of the back seat), plenty of room for whatever you have in mind.

I thought you were trying to find a way to transport something that needed to be concealed, such as street pharmacy goods, when I saw the title

How do you go about removing it? Do you just pull it up really hard and hope you don't break the clips?
