security control unit under front seat in 96 camry?

so i've got a control unit underneath the driver seat in my 96 camry but don't have a clue what it's for?
there are some wire harnesses hooked to it, and one that appears to be disconnected. The disconnected one is 2 pins wide by 5 pins long.

any ideas what it's for and should i reconnect it? most everything works so i didn't wan tto play with it out of fear of breaking something

Audio amplifier. Plug it in to hear if it fixes your audio.

i don't mean to argue, but i thought the audio amp was behind the stereo head unit?

i thought it was under the pass seat and only on XLE models ???

yeah, its under the passenger seat, ive had 2 camrys with the amp and they were both under the passenger seat. do u have power seats? it may be the control unit for thoes.

no power seats
i just plugged the thing in and started the car, still no radio and didn't seem to do anything differently

and yeah, if it was an amp it should be under the passenger seat ... are there any wires coming out of it...no labels or anything? just that one set of pins?

not trying to steal ur thread but, need help with a 98 avalon, i know its not a camry, but where do u guys think the amp is located in the avy with 7 speaker system? cause i get no sound from aftermarket HU i just installed, had a jvc in 1st then swtiched to Kenwood, and now no sound, any help would be great, and sorry again for doing this in ur thread
