The speedometer is a little off you know. You should of used the 205/60/15 setup but it's not too far off with the setup you have. I don't think so it's usually when you get new suspension on the car but not sure about new wheels only.

u shouldnt need an alignment because of switching the tires. however, a wider footprint will make any alignment issures more noticable. if u havnt gotten one in a while, say 30K miles, then it couldnt hurt.

If the wheels are aftermarket, you may also want to get hub-centric rings. When the stock wheels are on, the weight of the car rests on the hub of the wheel, and the lugs hold the wheel on, but with after market wheels the hub on the wheel is larger so the weight of the car is resting on the lugs (bad). Hub centric rings fill in the space between the hub on the car and the hub on the wheel so that the weight can rest on the hub an not the lugs. I got mine from a local speed shop for $10.

That depends on the wheel but usually it's bigger than the toyota's hub which I think is 60.1 or something like that.

I thought a 205/65/15 was the right "upsize" for 14" Camrys. Did the V6 Camry not come with 205/65/15's on it?

As for the alignment, as bigbird said if you haven't had it checked in a while, get 'er checked out.

It's a PITA for me as I work in a shop that has alignment programs (I only get a fraction of the pay for a free alignment than for a paid one), but if you have a 1-year, 3-year or lifetime program somewhere it's good to get it checked out every 6 months/6k miles, even if it's not pulling. Like I say, it's a pain for techs like me, but as much as I hate doing nothing but free alignments for a good part of the day, it is good preventative maintenance, especially if you have expensive tires.

Yes, but the overall diameter is larger on the 205/65-15 compare to the 195/70-14 on your car. When you get bigger wheels, you generally try to keep the diameter as close as possible to what the car was equipped with.

i understand that, but wouldn't the V6 and I4 cars be the same, or would their speedo's be calibrated differently?

The tire diameters are different, so I hazard guess that the speedometers are calibrated differently also.

Thanks for the info. I'll be buying some 205/60/15's in the fall!

It will have little less sidewall and more of the fender gap will be showing if you go with 205/60/15 since you probably got used to 215/60/15 but it's really not noticeable I wouldn't go crazy spending money on replacing just the tire size.
