Door needs to be opened and slammed twice to close. Help

I've been facing this problem with the front passenger seat for the past few years. Everytime someone with me gets out of the car and closes the door. It does not close completely and is required to have the door opened again and slammed one more time. Is the problem only the door lock or is there something else I have to change? This happens like 8 out of 10 times the door is closed. Help

Well my rear driver door had this problem, it was simple to fix, the striker was simply loose. All i had to do was tighten the screws that hold it on, and problem solved. The stiker is the metal loop thing that the latch locks on to. Hopefully your fix is just as easy.

The mechanisms could be out of alignment also. Simple adjustment should re-align them.
