4th Generation 98 Camry shuttering and vibrating..

Whats up guys? As I was driving to work today, my car was vibrating and shaking. It only happened when the car was idling lower than 2000 rpm. the revs would drop down, sound like it was going to die, and then go back up, and kept doing it frequently. I would guess it jumped up and down every 5 seconds. When I would hit the gas to start moving the car would be very hesitant and slowly move until the engine revved over 2000 then it started moving normal again. The car has 215000 miles and was running perfectly the day before. Any suggestions on what I should look at? How can I tell if a spark plug is messed up, or if its not sparking? No check engine lights have come on or any other warning lights. When I opened the hood after i got to work, I could hear some small sounds like knocking and I could see the engine shaking every once in a while. If anyone has any suggestions, please tell me so I can look into it. Thanks! I got to get this car to 275000 before I let go of it..

Shuluke

Try cleaning:
- upper engine (Seafoam)
- pcv valve
- air filter
- EGR
---------------------------
- do a transmission flush
- engine/transmission mount might need replacing (during idling, put it in "N", if the car still shakes then you need new engine mount).

hope that helps

sounds like somethin with either spark plugs/wires/distro cap .... PCV valve/upper-half as mentioned above ... or A/F mixture which i highly doubt unless youve been messing with it

Thanks alot! I am having a friend look at it, and the last 3 people have said we should check the spark plug wires and spark plugs. Sorry for not knowing but what is the EGR? I remember reading some articles on Seafoam on here.. Ill search that and read up on it. Oh and I dont think its an engine mount needed cause later today when i was driving the engine light came on. luckily i was at my dads friend(mechanic) place when it turned on.
Also where do I find the PCV valve at? I guess ill search around before I ask more about it. Thanks for the help and Ill keep you guys informed!

PS. Leasaunce, how the heck did you do those headlights!?!? I really want to do a clear set with mine, maybe even a little HID projection retrofit, but those are looking SICK! I will wait and see whats up with my Camry, but those are something to be proud of!

Edit: I clicked on your links and I will read them!
