Question Alternator removal

My alt is on the verge of extinction so I decided to try to replace it on my own. Im far from a mechanic but got the adjusting and pivit bolts removed and was ready to remove the alternator until I noticed it wouldnt budge, there seems to be some kind of sleeve (lack of a better word, hollow ring) going thru one side of the mounting hole keeping the alternator in place at the pivit point. Im stumped on how to get this thing removed any help would be appriciated.

The alternator on my 98 was also a tight fit. Just as an experiment, you might try getting a can of spray starting fluid and spraying this only on the alternator piece that goes between the long bolt holes. The idea is to thermally shrink that particular piece of metal on the alternator .... enough that it will slide out.
.... Try not to get any of this spray on the mounting bracket, only on the alternator piece.
... Not sure how much it will take ... just enough to cool the middle piece down some.
... Don't light any matches with a bunch of starting ether around the engine bay.

dude take it from me...its eay...once you remove the two blots that hold it in, use a wrech, or screwdriver to push it out from its hole...because its a tight ass fit!!!!!!Also the plug on top of the alternator its a screw take off the cover and your good to go
