4th Generation Wut Should I Do!!!

hey wuts up huys i have a gen 4 4cyl camry with an exhaust leak. i was under the car the other day and the flex pipe is starting to rot on the bottom. i dont wanna go to a regular muffler shop cause i dont wanna get raped with labor and there part prices. i was thinken of just gettin a header with the down pipe but if i do that i wanna do the hole exhaust over but cant find a cat-back kit to go with the header. wut do u guys think i should do let me know thanks

You don't really need a catback kit, if your area is like mine and without any remotely close shops with mandrel bending machines, you can order mandrel bends.

just the same, there are tons upon tons of mufflers/resonators/glasspacks you can order, just do a bit of measuring to check what bends you'll need, and order the parts, most shops have no issues doing welding for a reasonable price. (you'll probably need to pay for hangers and some misc stuff as well)

I would just go to the muffler shop and bite the bullet. They can cut out that old piece of flexpipe and weld back in a new one. Price should be around $140. On my generation 3 5SFE engine, the Toyota dealers only sell the full length pipe that includes the cat converter. Price for just the part at the dealership is $725. I also have been unable to find that flexpipe alone at any of the aftermarket parts stores. These muffler shops apparently do have a source for the flexpipe alone, so that is the route I would take. IMHO.
