screw the JDM, EDM, and the KDM fairy ... good ol' california sent me a baby today! My Weapon-R Dragon Intake came in just as planned.
the install had a few kinks [ie: there were 2 sensor slots, but i only needed one] but with the help of Adam <ASG14> and Matt <RedPhoenix> we figured out a solution fairly quick ... we just plugged the 2nd hole with the mini breather filter that Weapon-R supplied
if anyone wants a How-To for this install, lemme know ... i think i have all the pics available, and i definitely remember how to do it step-by-step ... however, since 95WhiteCamry has a DIY on his [for California setup] im not gonna post one just yet, cuz its probably pretty redundant
i have one video, but my camera makes a circular whirring noise for some reason, so im gonna get my friend to videotape it with her digital videocam hopefully ... it definitely sucks in some massive air - it hisses like no tomorrow! and i think i need new engine mounts, you can see my engine lurch forward when i start or rev - if anyone knows, lemme know if i should replace them ASAP or if im gonna be okay ... wouldnt want my engine to fall out

Sounds pretty cool, a lot different than my CAI does.
Here's an old video I had of after having my cat-back installed. It was still pretty well a snail at this point (as you can see), I suppose it didn't help that I didn't even try and brake-stall the converter.
you should do a good long brake bleed. brake fluid is not supposed to be brown/black...its supposed to be clear and changed every few years. hehe.
haha adam...what can't he do!?
Looks good bro, I'm new to this and recently picked up a 95 V6 xle 1mz, and was thinking of doing a short ram intake from aem. I have one question though, there is like a little eletrical thing attached to the stock intake snorkel with wires plugged in. I was curious what that was and what is done with it when installing the intake. Thanks, sry if its a dumb question :\
Nice! How much did that WeaponR take out of your wallet? I want an intake, but the last one I ordered I had problems with the MAF sensor fitting, so he took the 200 I put down and put it towards a set of lowering springs, which I have in my garage but have yet to put on yet...

if you have a 95, it should be OBD-I so it has a sensor in there ... it plugs right into the new intake ... any good intake company [Weapon-R, Injen, AEM] will have them ... check out all 3 of those companies if you have a V6 ... Weapon-R is the only decent company for the 4cyl

it was $115ish with shipping and all, not expensive at all for a well-built intake ... like i said, if you have OBD-II then its a bit more difficult, and you have to make sure you get one thats for 1996+ ...
you have to remember that the intake is gonna give ur engine a diff sound, but it wont really give you much WHP, maybe a lil hp at the crank if anything ... especially if its not a CAI - but i dont like CAI's cuz it rains alot here and theyre a pain

MAF, mass airflow sensor.
Careful with the v6...check to make sure the sri tube has enough outlets for all the vacuum hoses. a lot of those cheap ebay ones that aren't carb legal are missing the 3rd small hose outlet.
I order a Injen CAI for a 96 camry. and it had a platform to screw my MAF onto, however my MAF was part of the intake itself. It was attached to part of a circular connection that went in between the filter housing and the intake piping. Does this setup sound familiar to yall?
Also, if you get no noticable power out of a CAI or SR, what makes them worth 115-200 bucks?
ok cool, I think I'm gonna go with the AEM Short Ram Intake. I just don't see the point of paying $200 more for a little extra piping length for Cold air for just a little more power.
