Cold Cathode or LED setup?

i think i want to start doing some interior lighting mods on my camry ... i want to stay as cheap as possible, but also get as much quality out of it as i can - basically if im going to do it, i want to do it right

now if i get cold cathode or led tubes, can i just double-sided tape them into the glove box and onto the top of the trunk and replace those lights with the tubes? and if i solder the pos/neg wires, will it be supplied with the right current/voltage or whatever?

i dont want to go around blowing fuses, so any advice or how-to's would be great ... if anyone knows the amperage/voltage/yadayadayada for each of those spots, that would be great too

what brand cathode did you use? and did it come with a connector that you just cut off and used the red/black wire from?

Edit:

i found the DIY here - http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t88727.html

is there anywhere i can do the same thing on the interior? like the glovebox? i read one glovebox how-to on the forums, but the guy didnt put much detail in

Brand wont matter, I've had them all at one point or another and they are all the same crap.

They come with an inverter that has black/red wires so its pretty easy to do. 5 minutes of your life. lol

cathodes are brighter (more bang for the buck) and the light is evenly distributed

so depends on what you're going for

Newegg is a great site, it's where I buy all of my computer equipment from.

However if you just want to buy cathodes and lights, I would recommend www.xoxide.com, because they have much lower shipping charges for smaller items. I've bought many things from them, and i've been very pleased.
