Talking Took the Camry to the strip

Friend invited me to go, it was bracket racing so my car's slowness wasn't a big deal. I was actually surprised, it wasn't as slow as I thought Jk... I'd post pics of the slip, but they were pretty hard to read in real life lol. Best time was 18.4 in the 1/4 mile at 60 some odd mph. DAYUM SLOW! lol. I With the handicap and all used for bracket racing I still beat an S2000 rofl, the driver was an IDIOT. Burned em' good on the start and then missed the 3rd gear shift it sounded like to me at least...

haha, I'm sure the S2000 guy was fuming lol. The wierd thing, my best runs were when I just braked, then right as it turned green I just floored it. When I tried to do the whole brake and rev up to 1500/2000 and then let off the brake and floor it the time increased 2/10 of a second... Wierd.

Ha! That was the cool thing about the bracket racing, it's more about driver skill and timing. But you still get that racing rush. The coolest part though was probably watching the 11-12 sec cars and the sport bikes (Guy had a 9 second bike, WOAH! VROOOM!) They were telling me about a guy that came last week that had a stock echo and won the overall for the lane he was in. Just got crazy consistent ETs and fast launches. My ETs were all really consistent, but my launch time was terrible. One of the runs I ran a way better run, I was like 2 hundreths off of my set time and he was a tenth or more, but my reaction/launch time was like twice as much cause I've never done it before and was too worried about red lighting.

Oh, I have spoken out against drag racing before calling it boring, but I now feel that as long as you're racing against someone (Right next to you, not just by times) it's really fun. I don't think I'd want to do it if it were just a time trial with one car going at a time. Since my car doesn't get over 70 in the 1/4 yet anyway I can do that out in the country quite safely without paying $15 to get in lol. But having the other car coming up behind you or catching him etc was really cool!

I've brake boosted a bunch of times (not too high mind you) and it hasn't hurt anything so far.
