3rd Generation Why (do I hear) rubbing?

Okay, since I put 16X7 rims (35 offset) on my camry, i tend to hear a rubbing sound from my passenger side when I turn either right or left. When i took it to an alignment shop, they only thing they noticed that needed to be replaced was the driver side outer tie rod end, and since it wasn't me who brought the car in (it was my gf with my credit card ) she had it replaced then had the alignment done. They did not notice the rubbing sound. I even took it back once and they still couldn't hear it. I took it to another indepenent shop that does suspension work and for some reason they could not reproduce it either. Now, I know I'm not crazy because I've had other people in the car with me and they've heard it. I'm running 205/60/r16 tires on all corners, which from what I'm reading isn't a problem otherwise. I've turned the wheel to the max and tried to feel where it could be rubbing and don't seem to see or feel anything. I'm probably going to put my 14" wheels back on this weekend just to see if it still makes the noise, but in the meantime, is there anything else I can check?

is it a distinct rubber on metal/plastic contact?

could be something else: cv boots, rotors, etc. but those are easily identified usually...

Yeah, I had it up on jackstands one day and had a friend turn the wheel with it in drive and would give it a little gas while turning, like going through a parking complex, and it wouldn't make any noise anywhere. For some reason, to me it sounds like the wheel/tire is rubbing on the plastic fenderwell. and just for clarificaiton, how could the rotor be making the rubbing noise unless the caliper was sticking, or is that what you meant?

My car makes a rubbing noise ever since I installed my springs and I found out it's just the strut mount is shot.

Well, I just had new struts and mounts installed on all 4 corners.

I'm probably just going to put my 14's back on today and see what I hear (or don't hear). If it's still there, which I suspect it will be, I'll take a closer look when i'm on vacation later this week.
