Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Some brown teens are such ***s on the road these days. I don't mean to be discriminating, but I've never had this happen with any other nationality drivers on the road.
Story goes.... It was on the street and guy in purple sunfire(complete with LOUD muffler and pounding subs) decides to cut me off and pushed me into the opposite lane. Obviously, I honk so either he would back off a little but no he fingers me.
Circumstances giving, I passed him cause he was stuck behind a left turn car. He follows and tailgates me for 3 blocks. I was nearing home and decided its safer to try and lose him rather than have him follow me home so I took off turning left and he follows me.... gawd damnit I had to start moving..... I pulled on him but not by much, rims are too heavy and at the end I had to hide in an alley so he would go away.
I don't think he expected to be out accelerated and out handled by a Camry.
And yes I know speeding on the street is not good, but I felt it was better to risk a ticket for my personal safety of getting chased down by two guys. Its more fun for me at the track for autocross compared to this kind of stuff anyways.
PS: I don't wanna sound like an ass because of the first sentence, but I do know and met some decent brown people at school and at autocross and I'm not labelling all brown guys.
Jeez thats sucks next time carry a baseball bat and get out of the car like your about to kill babies! I'm a brown teen, but you'll have no problem with me
I am not brown... But i live next to north omaha witch is the mainly ethnic area around here. They dont have fast cars tho. They are into the Caddies. (that was not racist in any way i was just stating a fact)
This reminds me of an worrysome incident I had about 5 years ago at about 1:00 AM on I-10 in southern Alabama a few miles out of Mobile. I was driving along in the right lane minding my own business in my '99 Mustang GT (I had been driving for 6 hours and was tired, planning on stopping for the night on the otherside of Mobile) when a couple of guys in a beat up ex-taxi looking Chevy Caprice pass me, cut in front of me and slow down. At first I don't think much of it, I casualy pass them and switch back into the right lane, they do it again. So I pass them, get up to about 75-80 mph and stay at speed for a couple of minutes, then switch back to the right lane, about 5 minutes later they pass me again, get in front of me and slow down. At this point I am starting to get nervous, I am 10-15 miles away from the edge of the city where exits are still 5-10 miles apart and there is not much traffic on the road. This time I pass them, get up to about 115 mph and keep it there for about 5 minutes, I then slow down for fear of spending a night in jail in Alabama. Just as I get into the edge of Mobile the Caprice comes flying by me again, cuts in front and slows down, I decide its time to try a different option, we were coming up on an exit, so I wait until the last second then slam on the brakes and take the exit and stay on a highway that parallels I-10 for a few mintues.
I had a problem one night when some people started folling me in a junk mercury sable wagon. They new my camry was slow, but only thought that it couldn't handle. So my approach was to casually lead them to some curvy back roads, then go about 80mph around some turns that their POS could only do at 35mph! I even had time to turn around, come back and pass them, then do it all over again
Seems like people are generally not as friendly on the road these days causing me to have bouts of road rage sometimes too. I think a little bit more of courtesy would go a long ways from now on.....
The whole world is "generally not as friendly". Seems u handled it the right way! Fight the rage..happens to me too, thats why I have the gun in the trunk, gives me time to think before I light some asshole up!!

You do sound like an ass. I was a teen once, althougth not "brown", and drove like an ass at times. Too many teens drive like asses. It's just their underdeveloped brains that produce poor judgement. Unfortunately they do it with a 3000lb + vehicle.

Sorry I'm not sure I understand you. Are you saying I am in the wrong for running away?

No not at all - run/stay it's your call. You sound like an ass for implying that "brown" people are asses. What's brown, American Blacks, East Indians, Native Americans, Pakistanis, South Americans? Certainly if you live in a community of mostly one color you're going to run across more asses in that color, even white ones. The statement you made has no validity.

Calm down. This is not the supreme court, he made an admittedly lude comment which was prefaced. I think it's safe to say we've all used general terms at one point or another in times of significant frustration with a person. I'm not trying to condone racism, but I'm saying, I wouldn't really view this as a case of it.
Anyway, to the poster, I've had some people being dicks with me before, but not as bad as the one time I remember. I remember about 7 years back driving with my friend Travis with a few other friends and some middle aged guy in an SUV cut us off and then slammed on his brakes. (intentionally) and then when we tried to change lanes, he did the same thing again.
Pretty random and ridiculous. Luckily, our exit came up and he lost us in the mix up, although I wouldn't have been too nervous as there only seemed to be one person in his car, about 5 of us.
