You're better off going to a Car Audio store than buying off the internet for stuff like this. I gave up on Best Buy and like big boxes for car stereo as their employees usually don't know anything about installation.

i bought one of those for my car when i did my aftermarket install, it should be fine u just have to connect the wires from that to your headunit

what do you expect him to do cut off the factory plug from inside his car and in that small place make all the connections to this new deck and have a big pita if it ever breaks?

Well, that was my line of thinking but the more I think about it the more I agree that just having the extra five or six inches of wire makes it worth the extra $10 or so. As for where to buy, any auto install shop will (OK, should) sell you a harness by itself, don't spend more than $15 on it.

Speaking of going to Best Buy's install bay, I've done that before but at Circuit City.
