How 2 take off 93' interior door handle.

I gave the wrong information last time.
I was explaining how to remove the door handle but, didn't realize that the one I'd been removing was missing a clip. Thus making the directions wrong.

So these insrtuctions are for someone who has not already cracked or broken their door handle.

It's easier with two hands. But I took the pictures myself, so that is why you wont see a second hand holding the screwdriver.

1. firstly you'll need a flat head screwdriver. The thinner the tip the better (not narrow across the head just the thickness of the blade.)
Insert the blade above the lock hinge.

2. Pry the housing up. (away from the handle while pulling back on the handle.) You may have to use a little force but deffinately not much.

3. Once you've got the top off the hinge, pry back the top as shown here don't pull too hard , just enough to stop the top from goiung back into place. Then insert the flathead below the hinge and pry the housing down away from the handle by pulling up.

4. Now slide the flat head over to the side of the handle shown below and try to shove it back you should only have to go in about an inch in total.

Here is a better view.
5. So you are holding the top housing out andpulling back on the handle all the way open now. Once the bottom is pryed down enough the housing should pop down and out towards you a little. This step will take a bit more force on the hand that is prying than the top did. DO NOt use excessive force though, as it will crack the hanle housing.

6. If you have done this right, your hand will allready be in the right place to pull the housing back and away.(as shown below) The housing will come right off.

7.While donig the above pull the handle back.

NOw you can see the bottom hinge clip and the slide clip on the back of the housing.

To put it back on just get it in place by reversing steps 6 & 7 and slowly inrease pressure untill it snaps into place. You may have to play with the handle a bit to get it to pop in. But it's a heck of a lot easier than taking that piece of crap out.
