Emergency /parking brake question

This isnt a major issue, i was just wondering, I have a 1995 camry, and my emergency/parking brake is triggered by a pedal that you step on on the left hand side. but i just saw a camry i was looking to buy (yes another one) and it had the hand brake.

mine has a pedal too , is the new one you are buying a manual? i dont think there is a big difference other than with the handbrake, you can pull it and release it while driving without have 3 or 4 feet and an extra hand. not that you should need to....but hey, donuts can be fun

also all 4cyl manuals and i think even the dx models. i like the look of the hand brake but miss the room in the center console.

im just curious. on what factor would have it have the hand brake versus the "stomper" well the one i was looking at with the hand brake is a 1995 LE 4 cylinder automatic.

Mine is a 1995 v6 automatic xle and it has the stomper.

oh both are sedans
in fact now that im lookin at it the whole air conditioner controls are different too.

LE air conditioning controls will be all manual whereas your xle controls are push-buttons.

hand brake: all 4 cylinder models and manual tranny cars had it.

foot brake: all V6 models except V6 with manual tranny (can't have 4 pedals down there)

difference is pretty minor. it works the exact same way. you use it when you park the car, that's about it. i prefer the stomper brake cuz it leaves the center console looking cleaner.
