The battery is putting out plenty enough power, however, the motor wont turn over.
Since it is pouring down here i havent had much time to look at it yet. I pulled out the 4 tubes that lead down to the spark plugs (from the dizzy) and the one closest to the battery was covered in oil... (im not sure if this is usual, relevant, etc).
I guess i need to do a compression check, and see if i have fuel squirting, and a spark... So here enlies my question..
How do i check for fuel pressure??? The injectors are behind the throttle body so do i just pul and try to crank it over and watch for a fountain of fuel to spill out?
and... when checking for a spark, I just pull out the plugs, and crank and watch for a spark, correct?
i pulled the plugs, one plug was messy with oil...
But no spark, i went up to autozone and picked up a new coil pack ($46) and installed it, and still had no spark afterward. UGH.... so frustrating. What do you guys think... could it be an ecu problem?
if the engine is not turning, then i don't see how fuel pressure or spark could be the cause. are you sure it won't crank over? or do you mean that it won't start? two totally different things.
i mean everything is spinning, but the plugs arent sparking.... I tore apart the dizzy today, and it was a bitch. I put everything back together meticoulusly... and still nothing.
You'll save yourself a lot of time and money by eliminating guess work. Diagnose it or have someone diagnose it. Did you check to see if the timing belt is broken. A broken tbelt would sound pretty obvious when you crank it over (because there's no compression.)
I got tired of trying, now its gonna have to be big money out of my pocket. I hate mechanics touching my car but i decided to let them anyway.
I got a call this morning saying something had happened electronically. They gave me new distributer housing redid a wiring harness, and a fuse had been blown somewhere along the line. They put in new wires/plugs and had to even drop in a new ecu. PAIN IN THE ASS... It cost me $517, which i guess isnt bad but still another barrier holding me back from working on my supra.....
