3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
So, i was washing both my cars today. The murano and the camry. When I discovered that BOTH cars on the button of each door has a long line of scratches. My camry was on the driver side and the murano on the passenger. Both were about the same damage. As mine was sorta dented in and my murano was just a long line. I dunno how this could of happen. I taken good care of both cars. I checked the garage door to see if there was any loose sharp objects at the opening of the door but found none. What could have created this? I cant figure how this could have happened. Now I got a bill to have to take care of... crap.. this is why having a car is just a hassle. Cuz cars cant stay mint and scratchless. There will always be scratches everywhere no matter what you do.
and what even make more things worst. I just recently repainted my old scratches and scuffs from my camry! Now new ones out of no where. Now I have to worry about my murano. Here comes $300 gone.

what do u wash it with, i have friends who have used thoes long hanlded wash brushes and the plastic scratches in places. it may be somewhere u drove both cars or some crap u may have left in the garage one day and didnt notice that it was there when u moved them. the posibilities are limitless.
I just wash it with a cloth and water. The murano I went to a touchless gas station wash (cuz I was out already). My garage seem pretty clear. Theres nothing that is near the scratch marks. Its empty spaces there.

I would check out the detailing section of the forum. They have a great sticky about the best way to handwash your car and keep your paint looking like new. Its all about the stuff you use as well. They have great tips on what kind of cloths to use, soap, wax and polish as well.

well i dont think my cloth will have sharp objects in them. And these scratches were perfect lined up lines not everywhere scratches. I have a feeling its something in my garage but I really dont see what could have been there? and it cant be someone unless they use a ruler with their keys. sigh.. it just really sucks... and having to see a bill of $150+ again and again and again.

na no pets. I'm still trying to figure out what could have caused this.. it couldnt be my garbage plastic bin or recycle bin or waste bin cuz those are kept far left corner of my garage. Other than that I cant really think what else could be there that could cause those 3 line scratches and 2 line scratch + slight dent.
