quick question about the coupe.

hi folks.

i'm sure most of you know about the accident. tomorrow in the morning, my car is going to my dad's friends sons (Damn) shop where the car will undergo further inspection and most likely repairs.

i have one question though. at the time of accident, the car was able to start and run and drive. that was on friday. I wanted to start the car today but no go. i was thinking that maybe because the air bags deployed it can't start but that wouldn't make sense since it ran after the accident and we were able to start it up then.

the battery still works but i can't yet get a reading off of it (no proper tools). when i turn the key to start, i get an odd ticking noise. not like one from the starter though. it sounds like it's coming from the passenger air bag compartment (shrug).

also, the temp gauge starts to go up really really fast when the ticking noise is being made. last thing i want to happen is for the car to get fixed and not run.

any suggestions?

well as far as the temp guage, it may be a result of the accident. looks like the radiator was a little smashed up so engine temp my be a little hard to control. as for reapir suggestions, i wouldnt do anything untill u see what the insurance company says.

insurance company told me i am free to do what i want to do since the car only has liability (stupid insurance, i should've gotten better coverage).

temp gauge i'm pretty sure is the result of the radiator, so no biggie. i'm just confused why it won't start now. we'll see. anyone else got any ideas?

ticking could be an indication that a spark plug is not seated well. do you have check engine light on?
