I see he has cables from a 95 Camry, which can only be a 4-cylinder (no V6 5-speed option that year), but he's looking to swap into a V6. Are the cables interchangeable between I4 and V6? Different tranny and I thought different shifter assembly. Am I wrong?

nope, the cables as well as the shifter assembly itself is the same

this is also true with the clutch pedal/master cylinder, etc.

they are all slightly different, but they all still work.

I'm not too sure if the gen 4 clutch pedal bolts on to the gen3 though....but the gen4 shifter assembly fits with some trimming
