1992 i4 Camry, battry light came on?

Hey something really weird happened today, I went to fill up gas in my '92 Camry (I purchased it at 184,xxx km's on it and now it has about 189,500km) and as I was leaving the gas station (as I was just turning out of it) the battery light came on and flickered twice. I got kind of worried because I was going for about a 100km drive to another city. Either way, I went and the light didnt come on again. Should I be worried about having a failing alternator in the near future? Any other reason that light would come on?

I'd just check and make sure your battery is connected good, and if you get the chance it probably wouldn't hurt to get the alternator checked. If it ends up you need a new alternator, it'll be the easiest alternator swap you've ever done because with your engine the alternator is very easily accessed. Though, hopefully, it won't come to that.

It can also be something as simple as a loose alternator belt. Belts can stretch out over time, especially aftermarket belts. With the engine off, check for a maximum of about a half inch of deflection of the belt with thumb pressure at the belt's center point, between the 2 pulleys furthest apart.
