Camry Radio Problems

I have my Totoyta Camry 2000 XLE 4CYL. As you probably know, it has the 6 CD changer. I got the car like 2 years ago as a repo with 60,000 miles on it (good condition, cost about $10k). The reason I'm posting is that today when I got out of work and got into my car, I was about to crank up some tunes when I notice that it was on CD 2. When I got to work, it was half way thru CD 1. It played CD2 but I wanted CD1, so I hit CD 1... After a minute or so, I get "ERR 3" on my screen. I have never seen an error 3 on my CD player. ever. I was wondering if that means something is completely broken or maybe it was just not working because it was very hot out all day (I live on Long island, the car was probably sitting in the hot sun at 90 degrees for most of the day). Any suggestions let me know, I'm abotu to go see if it works (now that is is cooler out), as I dont want to replace my header with a $300 new one.

are these burned cds or just regular store bought ones? Cause sometimes if its a .mp3 cd (like a burned one) they dont always work with certain cd players.

did you burn the CD yourself? early CD changers had problems reading from CDR's. even as audio cd's and not necessarily as mp3's.

Yes but the thing is I've been using these CDs for at least a month and just today I had the problem with it reading them. and I was listening to the CD1 on the way to work fine... get out of work and it skips to disk2 and then plays, then when I go to disk 1 again, neither play and I eject them both, put them both back in, and still doesnt work =/

you could purchase a laser disk cleaner to clean the laser. Maybe like 5 bucks. If that doesn't work. I'm affraid to say the laser must be burned out.

I suggest cleaning the cd lens to see if that helps. I know that my CD player (stock head unit) used to skip alot and had trouble reading burned cd's. However, I cleaned the lens and for awhile it didn't skip and worked perfectly fine. Now it needs to be cleaned again
