Oil in resonantor box?

well i put a weapon r intake in and when i took out my old air box i took out the resonantor also but when i did this i had a descent amount of oil pour out of the hole on top....i used a hose and cleaned out all the shit in there....is this normal? its a 97 2.2 with 117,000 miles...i dunno if i should be concerned with this...please give me some opinions...thanks!

its probably just various grease from the engine bay ... mine had some residue on it [but nothing inside the resonator itself]

the oil was just inside the resonator box? it wasnt inside of the intake hose, or intake box?

i know of cars have have i guess a leak of somesort where the oil comes up and out through the throttle body and gets into the intake etc.

i dont know what, if any damage this does, besides loss of oil and damage to the filters.

but if there isnt oil anywhere else besides inside the resonator tub/container, then i guess you should be just fine. but i have no idea how it could have gotten in there.
