3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
FX bixenon projector barely has enough clearance for the headlight even after i chop off all projector mounts, and top part.
since 1997 camry uses H4 bulb, and it is common positve, ground switch,
i have to use 2 relays and diodes to make the high beam work
now when i turn on high beam, HID still on, and the solenoid pull down as well.
awww man! i want something like that where dod you get the clear headlights from?
can i take your pics?
hi, creeps, you are free to take my pics
i bought the clear headlights from ebay, about a pair $70 to $80 shipped, it is the aftermarket headlights made by depo or tyc for 2000 and 2001 camry, 2000 and 2001 clear lense headlight is not a direct fit for 97 to 99 camry, but very similar in shape, and size, i measured the gen 4.5 clear lense is about 1/2 inch taller and 1/4 inch deeper than gen 4 fluted lense, i was too lazy to sand down the fluted gen 4 lense, so i did some very minor triming on the gen 4.5 lense, as well as a tiny bit on front bumper, to my suprise, it fits pretty well. i guess it is all about creativity.
Do you have a wiring diagram available? I am still working on my E46 Bi Xenons solenoid circuit.
sorry for a sloppy hand draw diagram,
i redraw the wiring diagram from my memory.
keep in mind i only tested this to work with 1997 camry, H4, common positive, negative Switch on high and low beam.

Beautiful! I have been wanting to do something like this for a while.. I was looking into it when my friend deterred my attention for a motorcycle. Well now I am looking back at this, and I got a few questions.
1. Do you a big change in brightness when your driving around?
2. Where did you get the fx projectors from?
3. Where did you mount the ballasts?
4. Can you take more pictures of the set up in your engine bay?
I want to do projectors again. Good Job!

1. my experience with driving around with projector HID at night, there is more light evenly spread on road, and more width, can shine up 3 lane of traffic on highway easily,
2. i bought my fx projector, spare gen 4.5 headlights, denso slim ballasts, phillips D2S bulbs all from ebay
3. i have the 4 cyl camry, it has a lot of room on engine bay, for passenger side, there is a pocket next to the ABS actuator, plenty of space for me to lay my denso slim ballast and wires there. i didn't mount the ballast, i don't think the ballast will go anywhere. the driver side, i slide the ballast under the headlight.
4. It will have to be next weekend before i have time to take more shots on engine bay.
