they weren't made. what people have done was buy the red/clear or the fully clear ones and paint them with the candy apple red paint. i think the brand Testor's makes it. It's transparent and a few members have actually done it and made it look good.

I never bought clear/red ones.. These are oem, also I did use the candy apple red from testors, but with actual car clear coat, buffed and wet sanded....
I bought the transparent paint to do that, and just ended up painting bulbs for the interior of mine instead, what a waste of 5 bucks. I wish I could have done it like milt did though.

okay...on oem tail lights......do you paint the inside or outside of the lights??? and do you still have to wet-sand them? oh yeah, and did u paint the center piece or buy it?

Hey, noob.... with the zillion posts..... Why would you waste more money in buying the lights if they come out the same??
And do you have any proof to what you say??? Post pics please.....
hmmm i hate the idea of sanding something thats already clear =P makes me a little nervous...but maybe ill try it on the oems and if i f**k it up ill but all clears.

What you are doing is sanding down the orange peel and imperfections of the clear coat.... after the actual painting.... here, refer to this write up.
