Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Well after my first experience with a car that has a sunroof/moonroof. I really want one for my camry but I dunno how much it will cost to get it installed. I have a feeling I'm looking at a cost of $1500+ canadian right? If so then forget it... I would rather wait to get a new car later in the future with one
But I just wanna know if anyone knows how much it would cost.
Thanks

Don't do it. First it comprimises the strength and integrity of the car(well, we don't have much anyways), and it may leak. And it would cost an arm or a leg.
you can get a sunroof installed for an ARM and a LEG if and only IF, YOU HAVE A HOOK UP. Those bitches @ yota took me to the cleaners when i got mines put in- $2,200. I had it done, and its hell no, not worth it. Rattles.. oh god the RATTLES!!
my buddy had one installed at zeibart for (i cant remember exactly) about $400. but the sunroof was then a glass panel that pops out and has to be put somewhere when the sunroof was open.
wow so aftermarket sunroofs are the worthless piece of shit... well then I guess i'll save up for something with a sunroof.. sigh..but I must say sunroof makes driving so much better :P

i gotta agree with the others here. i love mine but its heavy, ud actually be better off finding one at a junkyard and then cutting out the roof urself and installing it. again prolly not worth it but a better option IMO.
well i got a rag top down 35 by 40 u can see the pic on myspace i havent had any promblems. and no my rag top is not from street beat those tops are craps $1200.00 electric
Back in '92 I had an aftermarket sunroof put into my car which I had just purchased, a Plymouth Sundance Duster. The cost was $170 which included a plastic piece that went under the sunroof to block the sun. This was a push up sunroof, not an electric one. I was happy with it and didn't have any troubles with it (I sold that car in early '00). Then again, I have no real desire to have one put in my '95 Camry, nor my '99 Accord.
If you are really interested, just call around to some different places that do auto glass and ask them, some will do installs and others won't. My personal recommendation would be to put the money into a new head unit and speakers.
I never liked sunroofs. The last thing I want is shit flying in from the top of my car.
Plus I'd probably forget to lock it... I'd then have an aquarium in my car.

I loved my sunroof, got a bit pissed off because I got very tanned from opening it everytime I got in the car
haha you know that was exactly why I couldn't have got a sunroof at first when I purchased my first car. My parents thought the sun could cause some sort of weird looking tan on your face or even have cancer or whatever. But after awhile they noticed that the sunroof has its own sun protector film and it also doesnt have to open all the way. Sigh.. well i have been looking for a new car lately. Maybe when my murano is paid off (less than 1 year) were planning to get another car... WITH a sunroof
