4th Generation Removing rear speaker from a Gen4

I just bought a 2000 Camry LE. One of the rear speakers has a wire that is pulled out. I'm pretty sure I can just solder it back on, but it would be difficult or impossible to do it in place. I tried to figure out how to remove the speaker, but can't seem to get the grill off of it. I did some searching on the web and it sounds like I might have to remove the entire rear deck. Can anyone confirm if that is true?

Thanks,
-Reed

Looks pretty close and unfortunately seems to confirm the need to remove everything. Doesn't look too bad, but what the hell is wrong with just making it easy. Oh well. I may not even bother with it after reading the thread on not using the rear speakers.

Thanks for the link.

That site helps out alot.. It was not too much work. Actually i have soldered wires back in the speakers for a friend with a 07 civic while still leaving it in his trunk. It was hard and cramped... But i think you can make it happen..

the gen 4 trunks are actually really big so it should be easy for yu to solder the wire on but if you want new speakers you have to removes the panel of the rear side passenger side ( either one ) and then prop out the rear panel
