UK Help with my other car

I dont know what is going on, i buy a car from ebay, the auction says the car has a/c, the woman says shes owned the car since new and "knows everything about it". I emailed her before i even bid and said "does the air conditioning work?"

She replies "everything works"

They dropped the car off after i paid via paypal at night when it was too dark to see the interior. The next day i see no a/c switch.

Now you tell me this.

Why would she lie? How can you own a car from new and not know if it has air con or not?!

(i wouldnt have bid if it hadnt had it, i feel sick driving hot, stuffy cars in the summer)

Did you check the engine compartment to see if there's an a/c compressor? that'd tell you right there if it has a/c

I looked in the engine bay for the compressor, i saw pipes coming from that area, it almost looked like it had been taken.

Im going to have another look, id take pictures but ive lost the cable for the camera.

It just seems really odd, ive emailed the woman but had no reply yet.

Its just it should be standard on the maxima, there are only 2 models in the UK and both have a/c. Plus its a later gen3 maxima, not a 1989/90 gen3.

It prolly doesn't have A/C, I looked at a honda civic a while back brand new that didn't have it, don't know how they'll sell it with our climate... But yeah, look at the acessory belt for the a/c compressor.

I wonder why? Don't you just love Ebay. Buyer beware.
