E-Brake Light

Randomly while im driving my emergency brake light will come on. The brake is disengaged though and it happens randomly, not whenever i hit the actual brake. Should i be worrying about this or is this normal with the gen 4s?

probly check your brake fluid level, or maybe a loose bulb.

the brake fluid reservoir is pretty damn sensitive when it's low and the light will engage because of it.

so just top it off and mov eon with life. otherwise, maybe you got a short somewhere and the car thinks the e-brake is engaged. either way, good luck!

I have the same problem right now. The light turns on after I make sharp or quick turns. I took my car in for the 50K mile check-up and the Toyota dealer told me that I need to replace the brake pads (I have 35% remaining on the front and 75% remaining on the back). It's normal for the E-Brake light to turn on when the fluid levels are low even though the brake is disengaged, that's what I was told.

Add one more to the list of people who have experienced the BRAKE light shine when you're low on fluid. Not an issue, just top it off and you'll be surprised how quickly the problem vanishes. Then chalk up a victory in your life of Camry troubleshooting.

Low fluid syndrome. Top it off and you're good to go.

people should bleed their systems while they're at it...i mean unless your brake fluid is clear like how it should be.

could that light also be triggered by a sensor shift on the ebrake lever itself and just needs to be re-adjusted?
