3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I have always wanted a standard car but I was given the camry after my parents using it. I was wondering. How much will it total cost to swap my current auto into a standard? Like with labour and all the parts to make it?
Thanks

wow yeah like digitalscars say. Its good to know this. Learning new stuff day to day . But damn expensive. But I'll try to look around still and see if I can find a similar camry/solara 5spd tranny.
Thanks

yeah as one person have said before, its around $1,500usd. all depend on how much work you gonna help or do..... parts should be around $700usd (depends on the condition)
A good option to do while you do a swap, if you plan on later doing it is getting a good clutch and lightweight flywheel and doing all the associated upgrades.
ATM I'm beginning to collect parts for my swap. It's a lot of parts to collect but the end result is well worth it to do it right the first time.
for a cheap swap where it really just works? I'd say about $700 in parts and then labor- probably around $1200-1500 or so...maybe less if you know people.
if you want to do it right and use a newer tranny and newer parts- around $1500+ and then plus labor which would be the same
and if you really want to do it right, then slap on about another $1K for a high performance clutch and flywheel
