3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Next week Saturday I'll be bringing in my camry to get some sexy european tints on it Planning to get 35% on the sides and 20% on the back or maybe even darker on the back dunno. But it's booked and I can't go no to it anymore! Once its done i'll take some sexy pics of it!
Also I wouldn't mind getting some feedback on what tinting % I should get on the back.... 20% or lower?
Also.. just curious.. does anyone have PIAA H3 fog lights on their camry or any other car? I'm tempted to get these bulbs for my current fog lights but their worth over $120 and I need for sure they look nice before getting them on.

I did 35/20 on mine my sig makes them look more even at like 20% but during the day unless your at the right angle you can tell a slight difference between them. Like ive said before if i were to do it again I would most likely got 20 all around or 30/20 at most. It really depends on how much visabilty you want from the outside and your driving conditions, even through the 20% rear during the day you can see pretty well into my car I mean its nothing like a reg window but it isnt like limo either. As far as nighttime the only time where it is semi annoying is when there are no street lights then backing up you gotta pop your head out but w/e definitely worth it.
sorry for long paragraph cliff notes: Go 20 all around or at least 30/20
but im afraid I might get pulled over..... for having 20% all around. Even though I DO want 20% all around but I don't want to ruin my record as its mint :P and having a mint record... keep it for another 3 years then getting a new car my insurance will be dead cheap right?
Hmm but should I get 20% all around?? I have a week to decide..

It will just be a fixit ticket if you do get caught for it so it isnt like you get any pts or insurance raises. Your insurance will be cheap if you either 1 stop being a guy or 2 turn 25 if not then you still get shafted but not as much. either way i have driven really close past cops many times where i know they could see my tinted windows but they have never pulled me over and one time i was pulled over for something else i rolled down my windows and he said nothing about them. it really depends on your area and the cops there some people say they really crack down on tints here in cali but everyone i know with tints havent had any problems
edit if you want more pics of what my tints look like let me know and i can get you some to give you an idea
Just check you laws, here in washington its illegal to have 20% all around (which i have) unless you get a note from a doctor. My bro is a doc so no prob for me. See if your local doc will write you a note saying you did it under his recomendations. If he is a freindly doc he shouldn't care.

get 20% all around!! i also live in ontario... our gen5 is 35/20 and i think it looks kinda dumb but the gen6 has 20 all around and its much better. We havent got pulled over yet.
i got 13% (i know sounds weird i question it too), but haven't gotten pulled over yet....knock on wood. but it is a bitch to see out of at night wish i got lighter
13%??, never herd of that percentage. i got 20 and it hasnt gotten me any more dirty looks from the popo, but im in a high crime area so they have bigger fish to fry then some douch with a hopped up camry. cant wait to see it.
out of curiosity how much is it going to cost you?
well i'm getting these tints from a good known shop that has a very high good feedback from friends and others. Their charging me $200 with tax and labour.

i said the same thing when he told me 13% i even questioned don't you mean 15% he was saying something about some thin layer that prevents it from turning purple or something i've had it for 3yrs and still look brand new.....plus for $200 and a lieftime warranty he could have said 13.587%
oh I forgot to mention. This package also includes the lifetime warrenty. I already asked. If bubble starts forming which i'm hoping not (knock on wood)... they'll fix it right up free of charge
