3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
There used to be kits for mr2s so you could twin charge them. Its kinda popular on 4agzes.
Yes, but they've long since been proven obsolete. Modern turbos have easily surpassed the capability all around of twin-charged setups. Even the 4A-GZE performs better by removing the supercharger and just using a good turbo on it. Twincharging is a band-aid solution that doesn't really work very well. That setup on the SR20 looks to be more about show than actual performance.
but yeah .... twin-charged setups are supposed to give you power at low and high rpms, and i think theyre pretty sweet for a show car!

I just wanna move on, I have sent Rdizzle private messages explaining everything. Thanks for your help R-Dizzle and BigBird. Where did you get that pic of the SC/TC 1MZFE??? Ive seen some ridiculos builds before but that one raks right up there.
isnt VW doin somthin like that on their 09 jetta or some carzy shit. i know i herd some company is doing it. in theory its a sound plan but from what iver herd, sequential turbos like on the early mkIV supras are supposed to do the same thing but less complicated.
