3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Was googling some stuff for the 5sfe and came across this link on google containing this info:
Quote:
Ripp Mods has recently made a supercharger kit for the Camry 5sfe with an automatic transmission. They need a Celica to go to their shop to test fitment. Any one who lives in the New York area can call them at 718-442-4723. Keep in mind the Celica has to have the 5sfe and it does not matter what kind of transmission it has. www.rippmods.com
Yukio had a show camry with the rippmods supercharger too.
It sucks that a lot of the decent aftermarket support for the camry community has fallen through the cracks. :-\

RIPP USED to make alot of good stuff for the 5SFE but like everybody else has said, most of it has sadly fallen through the cracks. I was recently looking for headers for my 5SFE and I checked if ripp mods still had theirs for sale, but NOPE NO MORE 5SFE AT ALL!
^ bosal makes ceramic headers for our engine .... and bosal is about as good as you can get for any car, really
you can supercharge any engine with a third-party supercharger with enough $$ so even if Rippmods didnt make one, you could always get an Eaton or Jackson and strap it on if you want to go ahead and do all the work
but it wouldnt be any less work than turbocharging, and i believe the turbocharger would be a better setup in the end
