so trying to remove the front part of the exhast pipe to get to my Oil pan so i can replace my oil pan gasket. We have killed a few extentions already, and i need ideas on how to get the bolts off. please help!!
I know that I usually don't have a problem getting to the exhaust bolts on my 4 cyl; I just use a deep-well socket and a few long extentions. On things that use long extensions, if you can you 1/2" drive tools (as opposed to the 3/8" tools many people use) it'll make it a little bit easer. Don't forget to soak the bolts down in PB blaster or something for a day before you try to remove them.

its gonna be tough man, considering over 10 years of use and thoes things prolly arnt gonna come out in one piece, u may be lookin at cutting or torching to get them out. good luck.
ga, please don't tell me that, i can't afford all this car work...but do any of you know how much it would cost to get it done at a shop??? I already have the lovely gasket so i don't know if that would make a difference.
Oh yeah, and just to let you know, I am not very...trusting of techs, the only person I can seem to trust is my dad and boyfriend (no i am not gay, i am a chick...just not so *ew i hate oil!*)
thanks

its easy and cheap to do. just cut the heads off of the bolts (grinder with a cut-off wheel, rotozip, sawzall, hacksaw...), and the rest will fall out. you can buy new bolts just about anywhere.
when i did that to my cat bolts, the bolts had actually fused with the flanges. i was driving around with bolts with no heads or nuts and the thing wouldnt budge
