Tranny fluid level too high?

Just checked my tranny fluid, and the level seems way past the hot mar. Ive heard this is common on gen 4 camrys but Im not too comfortable with it.

depends....it's not a good thing, but it's not a terrible thing either....

are you sure that the tranny isn't just overfilled?

Did you check the tranny level with the engine off? If so, then you will get a high reading. The transmission fluid is checked with the engine running.

I checked with it on/off, hot/cold. Still high. Gonna change the gasket (leaking abit) and was wondering if camry owners typically overfill the tranny for smoother shifter or whatever.

seems like several people do on this forum.

Thanks for the help.
