94-96 1MZ Header Y-Pipe Combo Installed Product Warnings and power gains
the problem. in the first post made my toys reguarding the headers, he pointed out some possible problems with fitment of certain parts and models. the EGR and all sensors fit to my surprise. the front bank (right bank if lookin at the front of the engine) header was too short by about 2 inches (the rear fit fine). the solution was to weld an extension onto the Y-pipe to make it fit. so ud need a shop and experiance to DIY. heres a crappy pic of what they did from the engine bay, ill try to snap anotehr one soon that may show it better.
my first impression of these is pretty good, while i feel liek ive lost a little down low around 2K rpms, the high end pulls pretty damn nice compared to before but thats but dyno. i think ill actually get it dynoed after i get the overhual complete.
I guess I misread your original post, you got obx y-pipe too?
What sucks is that I'm going to pretty much have to get my stuff custom made. I mean, I have a catback exhaust on the new ride, but if I want to do anything up front, it's going to have to be done custom. I guess I need to start practicing my welding again

good info- and even more so for the gen3 community knowledge
and a dyno would be helpful as well. But did you do a baseline first though? or else it'll pretty much be useless unless you also run a dyno with your stock setup on first

yeah the y-pipe came with it. if i were to do this again i would just have a Y-pipe made, thats the restrictive part. i bought it to see if it was a true bolt on for the camry, which its not.
after driving around for a few days ive noticed that at certain times the y-pipe bottoms out, its fine over speed bumps and even on in turns but if ur car is low enough and u hit a bump right, the flexpipe will bottom out slightly. in the pics u can see how close it is to the ground and my drop isnt as extreme as people with K-sports but it is low(sprint springs). worry about this if u have lots of raised manhole covers and things of that nature that would catch the pipe and really do some damage.
well ill bet its caused by the spacer that was needed to connect the front bank header to the Y-pipe. im not sure if a hanger will help. when i was under there i was pushing on it to see if it was loose or somthing but it wasnt, it was stiff in place cept for the slight movement of the flex pipe. im goin back to have them weld on a skid plate to protect it.
