How do I flush the automatic transmission fluid?

What is the best way to go? I was told drain it out of trans, put in a new filter, and fill with new. This will get most out but not all, in the torque converter. Then I was told to go 50,000, drain and change again, then 25,000 drain and change again. I was told at this point most of the old will be out. I know every time I do this there is always going to be old fluid in the mix, I'm just diluting it.

Is this a sufficient method? The '99 5S-FE powered camry has 98K on it right now.

i am in the process doing my ATF flush, i use an hex #10 key to use the drain plug, drain ATF, then put back the drain plug, measure how much come out, and fill the same mount back from the ATF dip stick. drive it for a week or two, and repeat the process until fluid is more red, probably take 4 or 5 flushes, and change filter at the last flush.

Don't forget about the differential. That needs to be drained and refilled also.

I'm not that knowledgeable about it all but I'd drain and refill. If that's the I4 with auto I think the diff is separate and you should do that too. Some have advised of a procedure of removing the tranny cooling lines from radiator and pulling in new while forcing out the old or something like that. Don't think it's necessary but maybe someone will post the details if you're interested. (I'd have refrained from answering but saw you were online.)

they drain the old oil, then put a new oil. Drive it around for 10mins. Then drain the oil again, fill it again, drive it again.....then drain and fill again
