Pics of my cars exterior + rusty engine and questions!

Now the questions I have are:

(1) Will having a rusty engine such as this cause a lot of problems?
(2) Does the car look good or ok? lol
(3) If I go 10k km over the timing belt interval change is there a HUGE chance of my timing belt snapping or waterpump going during that 10,000km (6,000 miles)???

I can't answer your question, but I would like to know if there is an easy way to simply clean your engine (I opened my hood up recently... ewww) from rust and all that stuff. If there are any products anybody would reccommend or anything.

1) i like your rims ... goes good with the dark red, and i havent seen many people pull off the red-bronze

2) the rust itself is on the exterior, so it shouldnt cause problems ... however, it can also be an indication that the motor was poorly cared-for, so it might be in bad shape ... only way to tell is to bring it to a shop, unless you know how to check the compression, check for sludge, evaluate integrity of parts, etc.

Actually thats a good idea, I should get a compression test done. Question, is there any way I can check for sludge myself??

the rust is just on the surface and you internals are probably clean enough to eat off of. Its because you live up north, the car is subjected to rust easily.

best way to clean it is a wire brush and paint.
