Yeah, gently pop off that u-shaped piece of trim.

As for the four screws / bolts, when I removed my radio a couple months ago three of them were stuck - using a screw-driver was starting to strip them. So I just used a 10mm socket, they came right out. This was by far the easiest radio removal that I've ever done. And for the new kit you won't need a kit (assuming you have a pocket under your factory radio), a mounting bracket, or even a trim ring.

Just a tip on removing the u-shaped piece of plastic trim. Remove the lighter first. Then the 2 clips are at the bottom near each side. Get a j-hook tool or a dental pick under there near each side and pull it outward to release each clip. Then the top is slightly hooked under the upper portion of the dash; you will see what I mean after the bottom clips are released. Once the top is unhooked, reach behind the piece of trim and unlook the electrical connectors to the lighter and it's light and remove the piece of trim. Then you will see the 4 screws mentioned above. It really is an easy radio to remove.

That is correct, you don't need a kit. When you take out the radio you'll see a bracket that is holding the radio as well as the pocket. Take off the screws holding on the radio and the new radio should have holes in the same place, just attach it to the bracket and slide the thing back in.

When I did mine there were two very small tabs on top of the pocket that I pried off to make the pocket / radio fit together better, you'll see what I'm talking about when you get into it.
