Clear hood

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows where I could get a clear hood for my Camry. I've seen clear hoods on other cars and wondered if they had any for the 1992 Camry. they usually have a certain tint of color to them. I've had 0 luck finding any info at all on the internet regarding this part. If you guys know where I can get them or where I could have them custom made I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks

they dont exist ... and i have only seen one in my life, it was custom made ... its really not worth your time and money, since it will be more $ than a carbon fiber hood

so far I've only seen 2. One was here in Washington state in some magazine. It was tinted light green....hmm...come to think of it the other one I saw was here in washington state as well. It was tinted red on an SC400. As stupid as this sounds I actually want to build my car up till it's like show quality one day. That's why I'm asking about the hood. I figured it'd cost a lot of money but my camry is a mid/long term project so I'm not too worried about it.

Any ideas of where I could possibly have one custom made? And yes it'd be one of the last mods I'd do. lol it'd be weird if I didn't fix up the engine and had a clear hood so everyone could see it lol.

There was a company that made them for certain cars and said they would custom make them for almost any vehicle but they shut down a couple of years ago.

You would have to contact a company that fabricates parts and even then they aren't going to make just one. You would have to organize a group buy or buy 15-20 on your own.

if you see them in a magazine, its probably not real ... its probably a photoshop like this:

and you would have to find a shop that does custom body pieces, since they would have to take your current hood ... make a mold ... then make a clear hood with that ... couple thousand dollars youre looking at right there for a part thats normally $500

yea I guess you guys are right, that's pretty lame. So how much would a CF hood and trunk cost me? Secondly is the weight difference in the CF hood and trunk really noticeable in the V6 Camry as far as acceleration goes? Or is it more of a looks thing?

i did it in like 10 mins about 2 weeks ago .... thnx

oh, and you can find each CF part for like $500+shipping ... there are some being sold in the For Sale section right now, actually!

the weight difference doesnt really help much, but it does look nice! but youre going to have to get hood pins for any aftermarket hood, so remember that!

Hey hey hey, the carbon fiber alone is not helpful if that is all you do, but if your like me and care, every little bit helps. Getting the front and back carbon shaved off almost 50 pounds. Combined with other weight cuttings and so forth it makes a big difference. I am sure i would haul ass better then a manual V6 that weigh 3300. It may beat me, but i will be close behind and faster off the line....just wait until i put the "tercel" motor in lol
