3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Ok, long story short, some sh!thead doesn't yield to let me through the intersection and this happens.
Another one bites the dust, but all wasn't lost. My cousin was moving back to Hawaii, and she has almost the same exact car as I do (did). Well, she sells the car to me for cheap because I'm like her brother almost. So, here's to a do-over!
Complete with full leather interior, and moon-roof.
Oh, yeah, the accident happend way back in march of this year. I just had alot on my plate to deal with until now. So, that's it, the super short version of the story.
Wow that is crazy, good thing you're okay. Awesome you got a replacement car too. Can I ask how on earth you got the shifter off?
and is it all 4 cylinders that have the handbrake and v6's that have the foot e-brake? I thought it was like gen 3's had the handbrake and gen 3.5 had the foot brake. Guess not.
Well maybe it worked out ok for you ultimately? nobody got hurt did they? Plus you got a parts car for your new-to-you car.
I really don't know what happened to the other driver. I was knocked out for a bout 5 mintues. When I came to, I was already in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. But, yeah, I got alot of spare parts. The KYB struts, the strut bar, theentire sound system, my custom shift knob, ebrake handle, seat covers, the 3 month old tires(less than 3000 miles), my hand painted valve cover, stainless steel braided brake lines, brembo rotors, custom magnaflow cat-back exhaust, and other accessories. Here's a couple of pics of some of the the stuff I salvaged.
The shift knob
The chrome ring set around the gauges, and gauges
Strut bar, valve cover, and optima battery
I just got my new chrome grille, clear bumper, and corner lights
Before and After
I haven't taken any pics of my "new" red/clear tail lights I got from knailgun, and the all red canter panel I got from ebay. I might post them next week.
Yeah, they fit just fine. The only real difference is the bolt studs on the tail lights, and the stud holes on the car. I just drilled 2 new holes in each tail light, used long screws to reach the holes, a few washers and nuts behind the carpeting, and black silicone sealant to weather proof and fill the original holes in the lights, and screw heads. I already have the struts, ect..., ect..., ect...in the car. Well...all but the hand brake, valve cover, and silver gauge faces.
The leather is nice, but this heat wave right now in CA sucks with leather. Every time I get in the car in the afternoon, it feels like the skin on my back is melting off. lol
