Trunk Release Works Every Other Time... DIY Fixable?

Whenever I open my trunk with the trunk release, if I want to open it up again, i have to use the key, and open it manually via the trunk key hole. He're a basic run through of my trunk-opening situation.

1st Time: Trunk Release
2nd Time: Trunk Release Doesn't Work, Need To Use Key
3rd Time: Trunk Release
4th Time: Trunk Release Doesn't Work, Need To Use Key
5th Time: Trunk Release
etc.

From the looks of things, the trunk release messes up after I use it, and it resets after I open the trunk with the key.

Any idea how I might fix this?

I've got the same problem and would love to hear from somebody who's dealt with it.

dont quote me on this as i havent looked at it but if there are any moving parts or cables they might need lubed.

It's not so much in the trunk springs, its more in the trunk latch.
