3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I got hit on the driver side by oncoming traffic this afternoon (my fault according to the insurance company so getting nada ). The whole left side of the car got caved in and both aribags deployed. The front left tyre got bent in too. The car was undrivable so I had it towed to my house. Just fixing the two airbags will cost over a thousand bucks let alone the body and the chasis work. I don't think it's worth fixing any more. So what do you think my optiions are? Should I just sell it to a junk yard? How much do you think I'll get for it? Or should I part it out? There isn't any visible damage to the engine; only the side of the body is damaged.
So anyone here looking for parts for a 94 camry coupe? I'm located in Scottsdale, Arizona.
My darn luck; I loved that car.
By the way, are the front airbags supposed to deploy if you get hit on the side?
aww man sorry to hear, hope ur ok. yeah the airbags will deploy if u get hit in the right spot. dont fix or sell whole, part that thing out, ull make the most money that way. so before anyone else jumps on it...
what engine?
what color?
any visual or performance parts?
and last, post up that ur parting out in the for sale section, but dibs on whatever i want
After 2 weeks of peace and quiet, the curse strikes again.
Sorry to hear that. I think selling the car on Ebay would be the best, save urself the hassle of taking it a part and at least get a little money back.
Thanks for your concerns fellas. I didn't suffer any major injuries from the crash; guess I was lucky.
eBay sounds like a good idea to me; I might give it a try. I'm also thinking about getting another Gen3 camry cheap and swap the bad parts with the ones on my wrecked camry. By the way, it's a four cylinder black coupe..
I "failed to yield to oncoming traffic from a stop sign". Here's a picture of the aftermath. By the way, the car that t-boned me was a 2003 hyundai tiburon (smallish car). How fast do you think it had to be going to do that much damage?
I will buy the drivers door exterior window trim if it is salvageable. The trim is black with chrome stripe and is located where the window recedes into the door.
