3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
so im still in this ongoing debate between keeping and repairing the camry, or buying a new car ... pros/cons on both sides ...
and one of the things i would have to replace on the camry before i put too many more miles on it is the suspension ... i was thinking about Eibachs on Tokico's, but has anyone ever tried the Tokico Suspension Kit [HPK355]
ebay tokico stuts- 349
ebay eibach- 235
= 584 shipped (this is for a 96 camry since Im not sure exactly what year your's is without searching)
about 90 bucks difference, I dunno know if it is really worth it especially becase ur initial link pricing was like 530. I personally would just wait the extra week/month w/e it takes you to get the eibach springs, but it's up to you. Not to mention I dont know if either of those kits charge shipping because I cant check the second(cheaper) link without actually putting in info but I assume it isnt free shipping because they didnt advertise it
the springs will be comparable to an H&R spring drop... it says it on it that it drops it 1.25"...
Can't say for camrys but the nissan crowd bought this and supposely had good reviews and the drop was good but this was on a maxima...
I would figure that tokico makes good shocks that at least making springs specifically for their shocks would lead to good results... Are you willing to trust on a company that for the most part makes good products, not mention you are saving money and its from a good name brand.
Just want to point out that I mention about this tokico kit so it was already talked when I was thinking on buying spring/strut back a couple of months... somebody pointed out the use on other cars...
My Tokico struts are wonderful, I absolutely love them and couldn't be without them. The only question is about those springs, because I have never heard of anyone using those. I would get the Tein Solara springs instead (or is that V6 model only?).
Im sure the quality would be top notch, but you have no idea what the drop will be. If I had to do my gen 3 again, I would have just spent a couple hundered more on coilovers- otherwise youll never get a nice drop on a gen 3. There are even a couple sets in the F/S section that would be close to the same price as that kit...
the tein solara spring idea is good for people rocking v6 camrys but not the 4 cyl cause the drop wont be much on the 4 cyl compared ot the V6 which Milt showed how lovely it looked...
Stuck with the 4 cyl then do what dysk8forlife said...
