Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Hey guys, I picked up another Camry a few days ago.. 00 camry and there are some things I would like to fix before giving it to my sister.. First of all, there is no muffler.. someone just welded 3 in pipe and added a nice looking tip. I would like to get the car quieter than it is now, but I am shopping around for a muffler.. Anyone know where I can look? I am checking ebay and stores around me. Some guy offered to weld a muffler on for 20 bucks if i can find a muffler.. I will have to check the U pull it shops this weekend, but does anyone know of any other places I should be looking into? Thanks!

junkyards have plenty of camrys and almost all of them still have the intact oem exhuast system and u can get it for cheap
or a custom exhuast shop can get u a brand new muffler for a reasonable price too
ya try a pick and pull for an oem one or you could always go with something like a magnaflow, it is a little bit deeper and louder but compared to other mufflers, very toned down
50 + shipping could easily come close to or go above the price of a brand new magnaflow though but it depends on how much he really wants the exact oem one
Sounds even better that its less than $50. Ok Venom, I will look this friday, and if I dont see anything Ill pm you. Thanks everyone for the help! I want to go the cheapest way for this, because I am paying out of my pocket.. I want something as quiet as my car is.

might or might not help, i recently ripped out the stocker and bought a thrust turbo from advance auto (parts america) for 20 bucks, and a nice tip for about 24... muff shop welded it up for me for another 35 and it sounds nice, not harsh or coffee can at all.
Ok, some guy at the junkyard is saying that he will give me a good deal and sell me a muffler for $35. Should I do that, or should I go hunting at the Upull it?
PS. I am in school currently and am doing my PHD and MBA at the same time. i dont have lots of free time..
Parts america wanted 150 for a muffler.. I didnt see where you got the muffler and stuff for 20..

my Pull-a-Part charges $15 + tax for mufflers ... i was just there last week, i wouldve picked one up for you if i had known
hey Venom,
Are you going to the junk yard anytime soon again? I might be interested in asking for a favor.. I guess if you think it will be cheaper to pay you and for you to ship it than paying $35 from that guy. I was told the u pull it only has a v6 camry and the mufflers are different. If your not planning on going just tell me, I can get this muffler from this guy and check on friday for sure with the U pull it.
