5 spd manual - what years/models fit?

I have a '99 5 spd and it is hard to get into 1st when cold at times and I wonder what other cars had the same or similar trans. I can snag one from the junk yard if mine becomes too much of a pain but not sure if say, a Corolla or Mr2 trans is about the same.

You can use a transmission from a 1992 to 2001 Camry 4 cylinder 5 speed since they share the engine.

The transmission from a 1990-1999 Celica GT or GTS may work also but the gear ratios may be different.

MR2 is a possibility but I don't know how that would work since the MR2 is...well...MR layout.

Corolla definitely not because they don't use the same series engines.

Well, when I bought mine, I noticed just a drop of gear oil under the trans drain plug. Noticed when I was looking at the car but figured it was just a slight leak. Brought it home and drained the fluid and about 3 oz came out of the trans - that is it. Filled it up and fluid ran out from the axle seal. Not sure why but someone mangled the axle seal at some point. Have no idea how long it was driven without fluid. The symptoms have not increased in the 15K miles that I have put on it but I am just trying to prepare.

Thanks
