ok so im new here, and i am sure alot of this stuff is covered elsewhere but to make it easier on me (and give you guys something to do ) ill ask it all right here.
ive had my 97 le (2,2) for a little over 2 years, now that we got the hhr its retired from family car service and it now is my runabout only so long story short it time to mod. as i posted elsewhere i added a thrush turbo and tip already just have to go back and either tuck the the stock pipe better as it hangs WAY down, or bend me up a new one. so now for some questions:
tomorrow my spw strut brace should be as well as driving lights, and hopefully the weapon r short ram. are there any things i should be aware of to make the installs go a little smoother?
also i need a good easy way to degrease and clean my engine bay, its a 97 that has been well kept up ,except the annoying power steering leak i get intermittently. and a mess from quick lube not seating the filter all the way. im planning to really detail out the bay as much as i can, right now im concentrating on that, i got lotsa plans and little to no budget so it will be slow, but at least with a camry i know it wont die before im done
the install for both of those is straight forward, shouldnt be an issue at all. Use simple green automotive and a hose to clean the engine bay, just make sure the engine is cold and you cover the essentials- air filter, alternator, and battery.
Try a search next time, people tend to get a little hostile when it comes to spoon feeding. Welcome to the board and good luck with the install!
thanks, i know people can be butt heads, i guess they forget when they started out. besides ya never know what someone may have learned since a post dated 05 was last used... ah well i get out the thick skin and let em flame
Yea the installs are strait forward, but about your exhuast, it will always hang low, it's the design of the car.
BTW, the trush turbo is a great, inexpensive mufler. I have one and a deleted resonator, and i LOVE it. I've had it for 2 years now and have had no issues with it.

yea i love the sound, just about what i was looking for, i knew id never get the sb chevy rumble i grew up with but this is good. and i knew my exhaust would hang some but with stock susp im about 2-3 inches above the road, it wasnt that bad before the muff install, so ill be going back and having them fix it.
thanks!
i have a friend with that muffler and i was totally surprised that it was any good. good luck with the installs, get some pics up when u can and welcome to TN
just ask me if you have any more questions or need help with anything
carefull you might get your inbox flooded ive done trucks, and trans ams and camaros, even a monza with 350 hp in a 231 v6. this will be my first import...and first with a computer that i will do more then a chip, exhaust and stock k&n so it should be fun, im not looking to build something to make me look like im an extra in the fat and the furious (yes i typed that right) just a nice street ride that wont get me into alot of trouble...
thanks again to everyone for all their help and wisdom so far, ill put up some pics soon with before and afters i hope... btw so i dont get flamed endlessly, any where in particular i should post em?

thanks, finally figured out why i HAD to do something, and looking around the forum just reinforces the notion. the tan mid-late 90s camry is about like germs, they are EVERYWHERE, the other day i got stuck in traffic, and counted 6 besides mine within 4 lanes and 4 carlinks either way! and all of them have a faded back bumper...lol
haha we all know that feeling, but just like a simple thing like tinting your windows can make you stand out from the crowd. I tinted mine and I have only seen one gen4 with windows tinted including the front 2 and I live by ALOT of camrys.
ill put up some pics soon with before and afters i hope... btw so i dont get flamed endlessly, any where in particular i should post em?
Once you get the pictures uploaded to Photobucket, view them in the album, and go to the img format bar below a given picture that you want to post. Use the copy function for the complete address in the IMG bar, so that it is copied to your clipboard. Then go to TN message and paste. The insert picture function didn't work for me. The 'copy and paste' should work though .... probably works for multiple images too.
