i have a gen 3 2.2l w/ auto tranny and there is a button next to the shifter and its says ect or something like that but when its on it says pwr on the guage, when i push it i can feel a better throttle resopnse i thought its like a boot legged vvti or something. can someone help this noob!

yes do search but this is one we should just anwser since its easy to do so.

ECT or PRW(lights up under shift indicator on guage cluster) hold the tranny in gear longer allowing u to reach higher revs easier and down shift quicker. in some opinions it just wastes gas.

alright thank you i had a feeling it did something like that. the button helped me take a 00 v6 auto mustang today. there was 2 fat guys in the mustang though. we went on a 60 roll, i no he floored it cuz his exhasut was louder then mine but i pulled on him by 1 car.
